Ritual for Sleep

I love to sleep. It’s one of my most favorite things to do. I love that sleep gives my body time to rest, heal, and refresh. I try to sleep at the same time every evening and wake-up around the same time including the weekends. It will take a little planning, but your body and brain will thank you. An evening ritual gets your body ready for sleep.

  1. Put clean fresh sheets on your bed every few days and spray lavender on your pillows, if you don’t have allergies.
  2. Cover all electronics (television, video games, computer) in your room. In Feng Shui, electronics in the bedroom is inauspicious
  3. Keep a notepad and pen next to your bed. In case you want to write something down. Clearing your mind is key to a good nights rest
  4. Take a warm shower
  5. Put on comfortable pajamas
  6. Sip chamomile tea or room temperature water
  7. Make sure the room is dark. No night lights or alarm clocks
  8. Have an orgasm (with someone or alone)
  9. Go to the bathroom. It sucks to get into bed, then have to get up again
  10. Listen to a sleep meditation CD or think of all the things you have to be grateful for

If you know you need to be in bed, but don’t feel sleepy, try Melatonin. I take one tablet before jumping in the shower. It helps me fall asleep and I don’t feel groggy when I wake up. I actually feel refreshed.
